California Forensic Medical Group has a variety of programs in place that ensure the highest quality
service to correctional facilities in California. From our trained staff to our cost containment measures
CFMG provides a total medical program for your correctional site. CFMG offers many advantages including
these key components.

Utilization Review

• Direct involvement in the Utilization Review process by a CFMG principle, Dr. Fithian
• He is available to Medical Directors and Program Managers regarding decisions on off-site medical referrals

 

Quality Assurance

• CFMG has contracted with Barbara Cotton, RN since 1989 to develop and implement a system-wide quality
  assurance program.
• Ms. Cotton is the past president of the National Correctional Healthcare Association.
• Also, former manager of the California Medical Association, Community and Correctional Healthcare programs.
• She has developed audit criteria to measure compliance with Title 15 and CMA/IMQ standards.
• Ms. Cotton visits our programs on a regular basis to perform such audits.

 

Pharmacy Services

• CFMG utilizes a pharmacy from Southern California to provide pharmaceuticals and supplies to our sites statewide
• The pharmacist, Mr. Berger assists in the development of policies and procedures relating to pharmaceutical services
• He has participated in the development of treatment parameters, dosing regimes and a system wide drug formulary
• Mr. Berger performs inspections of all CFMG sites annually
